1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible Details

This is a very solid dependable driver that could be driven every day AS IS, or it could use some cosmetic work to double the value. The car runs very strong and smooth. The engine runs well and the automatic transmission shifts nicely. It sounds and feels great under acceleration, or just slowly cruising with the top down. Disc brakes stop the car. The engine is a 351 Windsor V8 with a 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor, K&N; air filter, chrome valve covers, aluminum Edelbrock Performer intake, a mild cam, ceramic coated headers, an aluminum water pump, a new Optima Battery, 3-speed Automatic transmission, a newer alternator and radiator ( a couple of years old ), Performance PUI electronic distributor and high voltage coil, nice aluminized exhaust with a crossover pipe and flowmasters with the dual exhaust, Cragar wheels. This engine combo has it all for performance, but it’s a nice balance, so it’s also a nice cruiser for people less interested in performance. The Power Top: The power top works great. No waiting or lagging, or pushing with one hand. The current black vinyl top is in bad shape, but a new one, still in the box, is also included. I can arrange for the new top to be installed for around $250. The mechanisms, hydraulic pump, pistons, metal frame, etc, in the top are in great shape.
