1959 Ford Fairlane Galaxie 500 Skyliner Chrome Details

This 59 Galaxie is a magnificent car, in the early 90’s it was restored to how you see it now; it was stripped apart, cleaned up and repainted, and put back together. They spend hours upon hours adjusting the retractable top to get it perfect, the body is dent free and laser straight. I have photos of what they did to it. You can see they did a great job. It’s not a convertible but a retractable top.

This car has undergone a complete frame off restoration including all new 2-tone basecoat clear paint. Almost all of the chrome on this car has been replaced. The engine has been completely gone through and meticulously detailed. All of the rubber seals for the top windows and doors have been replaced. Nearly 80 hours were spent adjusting the top and all the relays, to make sure that this top operates smoothly and doesn’t give its new owner any problems. This is a very solid car and the seats and door trim panels are all original. New plastic seat covers have been added along with new carpeting to enhance the appearance of the interior of this automobile. The factory power windows work great, power steering works fine, and the power retractable top works perfectly, plus power front bench seat. The wheel cylinders were replaced recently because they look brand new, old school BF Goodrich Silvertown tires that are in great condition. The original AM radio still works. The cost of this restoration most likely far exceeds the true value of this vehicle, so don’t let the rare opportunity to own what is probably one of the finest restored ’59 Ford Galaxie.

The car starts and drives great. It turns great due to the power steering; it will surprise you how well it can turn in tight spots, like in a parking lot. The drum brakes work good, it can handle full panic stop.

The headlights, brake lights, and turn signals are in working order; windows go up and down smoothly and are electric. For the tires being an older set of BF Goodrich Silvertown’s,’ they are solid with no punctures or rips. All the chrome trim looks fantastic, and the weather-striping has been well maintained, the paint is solid on this car and looks super clean when it’s been detailed and waxed. The doors open and close with ease, plus the gaps are okay, nothing out of place.
